John Hunter Nemechek has been around the sport of NASCAR his entire life. Professionally, after racing through the ranks, he got his start in the NASCAR Truck Series (NTS) at age 16. Following in the footsteps of his family, he climbed the ranks eventually making it to the NASCAR Cup Series in 2020. After completing his rookie season, Nemechek made the decision to take a step back to the NTS and NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) to gain more experience. He aligned with the Toyota Racing Development program and restarted his journey to back into the premier division of NASCAR.

Spending two years in the Truck Series (2021 and 2022), Nemechek amassed a total of seven race wins. Nemechek continued his climb back up the ranks with his next stop in the NXS in 2023, where his breakout season led all NXS drivers in victories, scoring seven victories. Perseverance paid off for the driver in late 2023, as he was signed by LEGACY MC to drive the No. 42 Toyota Camry XSE in the Cup Series.

The 2024 season was year of learning for Nemechek and the No. 42 team but with several positives to take from the year. Nemechek and the No.42 team led laps at Talladega Superspeedway and Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and were awarded the fastest lap of the race award on multiple occasions. Nemechek scored his career-best finish of sixth at Bristol Motor Speedway in the spring.

Nemechek and his wife Taylor have two daughters, Aspen and Penelope along with multiple dogs. Away from the track he enjoys wakeboarding, snowboarding and skiing, playing pickleball, endurance training by cycling and running, and spending time with his family.
